Register an Australian overseas company online
Registering an Australian overseas company online is simple and inexpensive ($NZ160).
You are only required to provide details that are specific to New Zealand. Details of the directors and constitution (if any) of the company will be provided to the Companies Office by the Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC).
What you need to know
Before you begin your company registration online there are a few things that you are going to need to know and/or have access to.
- A credit card or a direct debit facility already established with us.
- A computer that is installed with PDF reader software (e.g. Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0 or above).
Company information:
- An active email address.
- Proposed overseas company name reserved.
- The company’s ACN number (Australian Company Number).
- A 'Principal Place of Business in New Zealand' and a 'Person Authorised to Accept Service in New Zealand', both of which must be physical addresses in New Zealand.
- An 'Address for Communication' by which communications can be sent by the Registrar (this may be a postal or physical address).
To register an Australian company as an overseas company complete the following two steps:
- Reserve a name - $NZ10 online
- Register an Australian company as an overseas company - $NZ150 online | $NZ250 by post.
Once all of these steps have been completed we will send you a Certificate of Registration and the company will then appear on the New Zealand Overseas Companies Register.
When reserving the name of the company, make sure to change "Entity type" to OVERSEAS COMPANY.
