A Banned Director or Manager is where a person has been involved, for instance, as a director or manager, in one or more companies that have failed within the last five years and where failure is at least partially due to mismanagement. Also included in the search results is any person who is otherwise disqualified from acting as a director or manager of a company under any statutory provisions.
It also includes people who have been prohibited from being a director or promoter of, or being concerned or taking part in the management of, an overseas company under an order made, or notice given, under the law of a prescribed overseas jurisdiction [Australia] in accordance with section 151(2)(eb) of the Companies Act 1993; (e.g. where a person is under 18 years of age, or is an undischarged bankrupt, or is subject to a property order under sections 30 or 31 of the Protection of Personal Property Rights Act 1988, or is not eligible because of requirements contained in the company's constitution (if any)).
